We spoke to Rupert Grint after his run with the Olympic Torch:
RG.us: How are you? Rupert: Yeah, I’m good, yeah. You?
RG.us: How exhausting was it in the heat? Rupert: It wasn’t too bad, it was a lot downhill, so… I’m not actually a runner, so I was glad to see that downhill.
RG.us: There’s been this rumour that you’ll be doing American Dad soon. Rupert: Oh, yeah! RG.us: Can you tell us a bit about that? What kind of character are you voicing? Rupert: I’m playing a… god, it was a long time ago I did it! I’m playing like an upper-class… erm, it’s a guy, a character Stevie meets on holiday and, yeah, it’s quite fun. It’s fun, yeah.
RG.us: You’ve been nominated for this because of your charity work, so just imagine your birthday is coming up and your fans have decided to support one or two charities. How about you make a call for your fans for any charity you would like them to donate to? Rupert: Er, I don’t know, there are so many good causes! I think… RG.us: You can talk straight to the fans! Rupert: Yeah, I like… Teenage Cancer Trust is really a good thing, for anyone who’s got cancer. Yeah, I think that’s the one it is, to support. RG.us: Okay! So, good luck!

As previously reported, Rupert Grint carried the Olympic Fire closer towards its destination on Wednesday, 25 July 2012, at the Olympic Torch Relay at Middlesex University. Our staff was present, and we are happy to share our goodies from this awesome once-in-a-lifetime experience with you.
The Olympic Flame was brought to Middlesex University by 100-year old Diana Gould, who was allowed to rest upon arrival, before being greeted by mayor Boris Johnson.
After an hour of celebrating the Olympic Flame, a proud Rupert Grint had his torch lit in the presence of London’s mayor Boris Johnson, and took off with the flame down the street.
After Rupert had finished his run, he returned to Middlesex University for a few interviews with the Press. Afterwards, Rupert gave another interview just outside the builiding before giving autographs and fulfilling picture-wishes for a few lucky fans.
RG.us was also given the opportunity to ask Rupert a few questions right after he had returned from his run, and we finally learn something about his part in American Dad, and we took the opportunity to ask which charity was closest to his heart.
